We have three streets in our community located near Legend High School that are governed by the Town of Parker Permit Parking Ordinance (Ordinance No. 5.82). This notice pertains to these residents only. The Town of Parker owns and controls all the Idyllwilde streets and sidewalks in our community. The HOA has no authority over the Idyllwilde streets and sidewalks (other than common areas).
Three Idyllwilde streets impacted by the ordinance:
Prior to 2018, three of our Idyllwilde streets close to Legend High School were overrun with students driving on and parking in front of residents’ homes. This meant 100+ student vehicles driving and parking on these streets, which became a serious challenge for residents to depart from and return to their homes. Some of the students harmed homeowner property and many would speed, leave litter, broken glass, or even drug paraphernalia behind. This situation became a safety hazard, and the impacted residents voted to approve permit parking in 2018.
1) Town of Parker parking permit is required for parking on these 3 streets on Monday-Friday, 7am3pm. Holidays are exempt.
2) PENALTY: Cars parked illegally are subject to parking citations and fines. a. Note, expired permits are NOT valid and subject to the above penalty.
3) Permits are only issued to residents living on these 3 streets. There is a maximum of 3 permits per home. Permits are obtained from the Parker Police Department for $20 for a 2-year period. ID is required to prove residency.
4) Permit usage is only for the resident’s vehicles and their short-term guests. a. Driveways are exempt from this ordinance. Guests can use driveways without permits. b. Exemption: vehicles marked with a company name and actively performing a service in the immediate area do not require a permit (e.g. mowing service, tree service, etc.). c. Tip: Guests can include your unmarked service vehicles (e.g. maid service). Hang your permit in the unmarked service vehicle to avoid citations.
5) Permits can NOT be sold, shared, or loaned. Illegal use of permits may result in permit(s) being revoked or suspended.
6) To remain valid, permits must be renewed once the date on your permit expires (at least every 2 years). Example: “2026” date sticker expires 12/31/2026
7) To report a permit parking violation: call the Parker Police non-emergency#: 303.841.9800
